Support

Coming to Cambodia was a big step for us. Packing everything up, putting it into storage in Germany, and arriving here to an empty house and an unclear idea of how exactly things were going to develop wasn't easy. Saying goodbye to our friends and family certainly wasn't either. What gave us the courage to make that step was knowing that this is where God wanted us to be, that this is where we were supposed to be. We felt it when we came to visit Cambodia in 2013 and we've felt every day since we've been here. Being able to be involved in the work of Love146 and other NGOs fighting to abolish trafficking and sexual exploitation and offering care to the survivors is a privilege and a cause that we feel is worth making sacrifices for. At the same time, we often don't feel like our living here is much a sacrifice; we love Cambodia and living here brings uso much joy.

Finances
One of the big steps in coming here was knowing that we would have to raise our own support. Love146 Cambodia does not currently have the funding for extra staff and Philipp is working on getting his Master's degree via a demanding online course, which means that neither of us currently receives a salary. Our wonderful home church in Germany is very supportive of us, but istill a small, growing church and unable to cover our monthly costs. This is why we have reached out to friends and family in Germany, asking them if they would be interested in supporting us financially with a small monthly donation. Would you also consider supporting us? Any amount is very welcome; even $10 would already cover Philipp's lunch costs for a whole work week.

For those of you who would like to support us financially, it is possible for you to wire the amount you would like to give to our church in Germany. If it is earmarked with "Mission Kambodscha" (mission Cambodia) then 100% of that amount will go directly to us. The advantage for you is that they have agreed to write out and send donation receipts to everyone who supports us - regardless of which country they are from - meaning that the amount donated is tax-deductible.

Mail
Other ways you can support us while we are here is by continuing to read and comment on our blog - it always makes us feel so loved. Packages and letters, while not always 100% sure that they will arrive are also very welcome, as are emails and Facebook messages. We use the office's P.O. box, so send us an email at philipp.s.geyer@gmail.com if you would like to know the address.

Prayer
For those of you who pray, you can be a big support to us in praying for us and our work here. Here are some areas that we can always use prayer for:
  • our health
  • safety for us and our house from robberies
  • perseverance in learning Khmer
  • wisdom for Tesia in her work

Thank you!
